PO-2 Fence Gallery
About
The soviet concrete PO-2 fence became a popular kitsch in design communities. This website collects all such design into a single catalog. Objects are split into categories by format and material.
About the fence
PO-2 is a case of accidental cool brutalism. Side note: "brutalism" doesn't come from the word "brutal" but from the French béton brut (raw concrete).
The proportions of the PO-2 pattern are laconic. The short horizontal bar in the center sits at the upper third and spans exactly one third of the section's width. I like to think 1/3 is an engineer's golden ratio (which is roughly 0.618), which is often found in nature.
